Product Description

Leading the Pack

The Series II Turbo-Till® builds on the solid reputation of the original Turbo-Till as the most versatile vertical tillage tool available. It utilizes two ranks of our exclusive Turbo Coulters to aggressively chop residue without hairpinning. Turbo-Till effectively manages residue and reduces compaction in a wide range of conditions, providing a consistent well-prepared seedbed for planting.

Improvements to the Series II include 3" C-shanks and PEER® Maintenance-Free Bearings.

Current uses include warming and drying cool wet soils, incorporating animal waste, and preparing a smooth, level seedbed for planting. Turbo-Till, available in sizes from 12' to 40', is also an excellent fall tool to size and incorporate residue to promote the decaying process.

Product Features

TURBO COULTER

The turbo design allows the blade flute to attack the residue vertically, providing improved cutting, penetration, and decreased hairpinning.

HYDRAULIC WEIGHT TRANSFER

Transfer valve adjusts weight from center to wings, providing even, constant down pressure to the full width.

DROP AXLE

The greaseless anti-rotational pivot pin virtually eliminates wear in the drop axle pivot.

Fall Tillage: How to Deal with Ruts

Before and After: Turbo-Max® Vertical Tillage Implement
November 11, 2014

A rainy fall harvest season has caused wet soil conditions and moderate to severe ruts in many fields across the country. These ruts must be fixed before spring planting. Fall tillage needs to eliminate the ruts to ensure a good, uniform seedbed in the spring.

Farmers should analyze the severity of the ruts, then choose the tillage tool that matches their specific field needs—in many cases, the solution may involve a two-pass system. Our full line of tillage equipment is designed to meet the needs of each operation and eliminate ruts in a variety of field conditions.

Which Vertical Finish Tool is Right for Me?

Great Plains Tillage: Turbo-Till®
March 10, 2015

A vertical tillage system requires producers to maintain uniform density in the soil profile. Vertical finish tools prevent the creation of additional compaction layers in the soil, especially after less-than-ideal planting or harvest seasons. A good vertical finish tool will establish an ideal seedbed to allow precision seed placement by the planter.

Producers should consider several factors when selecting a vertical finish tool:

Customer Testimonials

From Kenneth M., Western Pennsylvania:

"After designing & building my own vertical tillage tool (3 point hitch version) and very satisfied with the results, I rented a Great Plains 12' Turbo-Chopper®. I was more satisfied with my tiller. An 18' Turbo-Max® became available to rent. That led me to my purchase of my Turbo-Till®. The conditioning of the soil and residue incorporation greatly exceeded my expectations! What a great seedbed! Thank you!"
